I will be teaching a course on "How to be a Naturalist" starting on the opening day of classes, September 17. This engaging ten-week program combines lectures with hands-on learning in the field, covering a range of nature education topics such as plant identification, foraging, forestry, stream ecology, and more. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in bird watching events and explore various nature programs. After completing this fun and interactive experience at the Nature Center, along with some off-site field trips, Georgia Master Naturalists are encouraged to share their knowledge of Georgia wildlife education by volunteering in schools, scout programs, and nature centers, as well as participating in local Garden Club activities. Our Master Naturalist program offers 57 hours of training, with a minimum of 48 hours required to earn your Master Naturalist certificate. When: Wednesday, September 17 - Wednesday, November 19.
