Join us at Dunwoody Nature Center on Saturday, August 23rd, for the Great Southeast Pollinator Census—a unique event where kids and parents can become citizen scientists for the day! From 1:00 to 2:00 PM, families will learn how to observe and count pollinators like bees, butterflies, and beetles while exploring the garden. No prior experience is needed—our staff educator Rose Guerra will provide simple instructions and support to guide you through the process.

I will be teaching "How to be a Naturalist" on the opening day of classes (September 17).
This ten-week course uses a combination of lectures and hands-on learning in the field, covering a variety of nature education subjects including plant identification and foraging, forestry, stream ecology, and more! After completing this fun & interactive program, on-site at the Nature Center with some off-site field trips, Georgia Master Naturalists are encouraged to share their knowledge with their communities by volunteering & working in schools, scout programs, and nature centers.
Our Master Naturalist program will offer participants 57 hours of training. A minimum of 48 hours is required to earn your Master Naturalist certificate.
